As a Gloor customer, you have real advantages over your competitors. We provide excellent advice, customer service with the shortest response times, and tools that are adapted to your application, regardless of the complexity and number of pieces required for your project. Anything is possible with Gloor. We know the needs and requirements of customers across various industries. That is why we prepare offers within 1–2 business days and guarantee very fast lead times of 2–3 weeks for uncoated cutting tools. If you have any concerns, our technical advisors would be happy to pay a visit to your site. We are continuously improving our innovative products so that you can get the maximum productivity and quality out of your production. Gloor stands for top performance at an extremely attractive cost-benefit ratio.
The path from customer sketch to finished Gloor product is a process that passes through several phases. We use your sketch to determine which cutting tool you need, the type of workpiece you would like to process with it, and what exactly can be processed using it. If you do not wish to submit a sketch, we can also copy the shape from a sample and design the cutting tool
accordingly.
In the next step, we determine which technical requirements the cutting tool must meet and which factors could affect the tool and the machining process. Considering all these findings, we develop a proposal for a solution and prepare the offer. You as the customer can try out a product prototype in practice during a testing round.
Following we meet and collect your feedback, change requests, and suggestions for improvement in order to further develop and finalize your made-to-order Gloor tool.
Our cutting tools are made of carbide. The carbide grade is matched to the requirements the tool needs to withstand. With the selection of the substrate, we have an influence on the toughness and strength of the tool. These factors largely determine the service life and functionality of the tool. This is where Gloor’s deep expertise comes into its own.
By choosing the right coating, you can optimize the optics and surface quality of the processed workpiece and extend the tool life. At higher speeds, for example, you can protect the tool from overheating and reduce the resistance in order to improve the chip flow. At Gloor, we only work with well-known coating companies that meet the highest quality standards. Our consulting team will give you expert recommendations for which type of coating and coating thickness is best for your specific application.
Standard profiles of gear cutters and hobs have between 12 and 15 teeth. Gloor has developed and patented a specialized manufacturing process for producing tools with up to 200 teeth. This special grinding technology takes into account the ratio of the outside diameter of the milling cutter to the number of teeth, thus allowing the creation of fine-toothed toothprofiles. As a Gloor customer, you benefit directly from this, because your productivity increases proportionally to the number of teeth.
All Gloor tools can optionally be logarithmically relief grinded. This can provide you with significant advantages as a customer. The cutting tool clearance and rake angles remain stable and ensure consistently high process performance. Milling cutters made with logarithmic relief have a considerably longer service life than tools with a straight relief. Milling cutters with a logarithmic relief are also very easy to regrind and have a 100% consistent profile. This means that the profile shape remains 100% constant, even after repeated regrinding, so you get back a like-new tool after every regrinding. Check out our short video to see how logarithmic relief is done and what advantages it offers to the application.
Gloor works according to ISO standards. Our management systems for occupational health and safety, quality, and the environment are certified.
